Who is your favorite villain of literature?

It can be classical or modern literature. What do you like them? I personally I have a difficult choice, but I have said Edmund in King Lear or Othello's Iago. They seem to be the villains in more depth.

Mephistopheles in Faust Goethe. Once I had to compare it to Woland's Master and Margarita by Bulgakov. I had come to the conclusion that Mephistopheles is a teenager Voland – who live for fun. I really like, one of the best literary characters ever. And Voland, of course. Although not much of a villain .. but still, the devil]
