vampire characters should be called …?

Frist of all, no one here to comment: "Oh my god, vampires are so overrated! There are many vampire books too close now! "Just came out. Leave now. I am" report "happy and you're just being rude (not to mention know nothing of, timeless classic of literature). Therefore, I am writing an epic fantasy novel where vampires are the main focus, although there are many other creatures fantastic. My vampire is very classic, natural walk at night (I'm thinking of going to Dracula approach and enable them to walk in the day, but little weakens and completely natural), friends of animals (rats, wolves, vultures, etc), most animal and even slightly demonistic when hungry or food. As this is an epic fantasy that takes place in an alternate universe (which was Victorian meets medieval meets the future), should I call them vampires? I've been calling "the" old, but I do not know if that's weird. Something else or just go with "vampire"?

If you have or have not received Fangs by Katie Maxwell read she calls the vampires in his book "The Dark" I know that sounds a bit cheesy but good job now did not. No se. People have been using the name "vampire" way to much lately. I think an alternate on the lines … I acutally like the name of "the ancients." I think that sounds older and more formal then say "vampires." :) Or how about "the old ones." Or something like that:) I hope Help me: D
